Learning Outcomes

Learning outcomes help you work towards your educational goals.

  1. Students who complete the program will be able to demonstrate an understanding of Latinos and Chicanos as a diverse population, including ethnic, racial, gender and sexual diversity.
  2. Students who complete the program will be able to explain major moments in the history of Latinos and Chicanos, including their struggles for gender and sexual equality, political empowerment and access to U.S. political institutions.
  3. Students who complete the program will be able to explain processes of Latino racial and ethnic formations.
  4. Students who complete the program will be able to explain the cultural experiences and contributions of Latinos and Chicanos to the United States, including those of women and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transsexual (LGBT) people.
